Hello, is it possible to carry a bag on your shoulder using short handles? The dimensions are 10 cm, but it looks longer in the photo. Do you measure the handles from the edge to the edge of the seam or only the height?

It is not possible to wear this bag on the shoulder using the short handles. The measure of the handle drop is taken from the top of the bag to the top of the handle.

Is there room along the sides in between the interior zip pouch and the sides of the bag to place belongings, and is it designed to be used that way? Or would one only use the zip pouch itself in which to place contents? Thank you.

Yes, there is space along the sides, and you can comfortably store some items there. However, please note that the main pocket is the zippered one, which is attached to the bag and not removable. Valuable items are best kept inside this zip pocket, but you can safely use the space along the sides for other items as well.
